East Meets West Showcase

This winter, Acquire A Cappella is presenting a special pair of concerts: the East Meets West Showcase series! The showcase features UCSC favorites Acquire performing alongside collegiate a cappella groups from schools on the East Coast. These will be free, intimate shows for fans of the group looking to hear what some of the best a cappella groups sound like on the other side of the country.

Round 1: Brown Derbies Thursdaym, January 15, 8:30pm Cowell Apartments Community Room Admission: Free to all The first of these shows features the Brown Derbies, from Rhode Island's Brown University. This all-male group hailing from the Ivy League has recently released a CD and has crossed the country to perform with UCSC's Acquire. Their comedic flair and high-energy performances with an eastern twist is sure to enthuse Santa Cruz a cappella fans. [FACEBOOK EVENT]

Round 2: Brandeis Voicemale Tuesday, February 17, 8:30pm Cowell Apartments Community Room Admission: Free to all This February is the second show in the series featuring VoiceMale from Brandeis University. VoiceMale is an all-male group from one of Massachusetts's most esteemed private universities. They will be performing songs back-to-back with Acquire, who will be singing some of UCSC's favorite tunes along with a few new ones just added to the repertoire. [FACEBOOK EVENT]
